Upper School (9th & 10th Grade) Opens This September

2025-07-21T20:54:42-04:00

This September we will launch our Upper School, beginning with 9th and 10th grades, which will be located within a beautiful historic New England home on the edge of the property, an appropriately classical setting which will be equipped with a long wooden table for seminar-style discussions, expansive whiteboards for detailed mathematical calculations, equipment for chemistry labs, and lounge spaces for reading, contemplation, and independent study. Our core faculty has been working to develop a classical curriculum that weaves together the humanities, faith and theology, language, fine arts, music, mathematics, and the sciences. Our Upper School program of study is designed to orient our [...]

Thank You For A Beautiful First Year

2025-06-30T13:00:08-04:00

We closed out an incredible first year with an Olympic-themed field day, a multi-cultural folk dance and pot luck, burying a time capsule, and reflecting on friendship, faith, and growth. We could not be more grateful for the love and support from our benefactors, families, teachers and students who made this beautiful dream possible. We are looking forward to a restful summer, as we prepare to welcome everyone back in September.

ACTA Foundation Selects Saint George as First Sponsorship School

2025-05-29T15:54:04-04:00

Saint George Classical Academy was recently chosen by the ACTA Classical Schools Foundation as their first "Sponsorship School” and awarded a matching “challenge” grant which will help us launch a violin program in the 2025-26 school year (donate here). ACTA is a New Hampshire-based private charitable organization established earlier this year to support the growth of classical education by providing financial assistance, encouragement, and mentoring to new and early-stage public and private classical schools as the best hope to improve American education. The Foundation’s Board agreed that Saint George Classical Academy, now completing its first academic year, is a promising early-stage [...]

Students Visit Boxford Fire Department

2025-05-14T15:01:46-04:00

Yesterday, Saint George students took a walking field trip across the street to the Boxford Fire Department. Chief Geiger gave an excellent presentation on fire safety and rescue before showing us their fire suits, rescue equipment, and of course, letting the students climb into the trucks! We are grateful for the many ways in which the community of Boxford has embraced our school.

Feast of Saint George

2025-05-09T16:18:33-04:00

May St. George intercede on behalf of our beautiful little school! Yesterday, we celebrated our patron's feast day, received a stunning hand painted icon as a gift, and prayed for the school and its students, families, teachers, and benefactors. We are so grateful for the many blessings received in our first year. As deliverer of captives and defender of the poor, healer of the infirm and champion of kings,  victorious Great Martyr George,  intercede with Christ our God for our soul’s salvation. -Troparion of St. George

Myths, Morals, Musings, and Mirth

2025-04-22T08:20:28-04:00

Last week, our students performed a selection of songs, poems, and Greek myths for their parents and members of the community  as a culmination of their theater classes. Participation in theatrical performances develops many essential skills, including verbal and non-verbal communication, memorization, collaboration, working under pressure, self-control, and attention to detail. Theater provides an opportunity for students to delve deeply into the nuances of a story, to participate in socially sophisticated situations,  and to develop empathy as they seek to understand the motivations of their character. It was a wonderful event for our families.

Student Led Conferences

2025-03-10T21:18:29-04:00

On Friday, we hosted our first Student Led Conferences, in which students have an opportunity to share their learning with their parents, presenting work samples and reflections on their personal growth. Starting in kindergarten we emphasize self-assessment so that our students grow into self-governing, lifelong learners. It was a beautiful event!

Valentine Tea with the Boxford Council on Aging

2025-02-13T20:59:47-05:00

Saint George students were delighted to join Boxford senior citizens for a Valentine tea this week. Our walk across the street to the Council on Aging was made even more exciting for students by a police escort from Chief of Police, Officer Riter. When we arrived, the students sang a few songs including the beloved "These Are a Few of My Favorite Things," and enjoyed tea, finger sandwiches, and a beautiful spread of sweets generously provided by the Council on Aging. We exchanged Valentines with Council members and enjoyed lively conversations. We are grateful for the opportunity to develop these beautiful, intergenerational relationships within [...]
