Upper School (9th & 10th Grade) Opens This September
This September we will launch our Upper School, beginning with 9th and 10th grades, which will be located within a beautiful historic New England home on the edge of the property, an appropriately classical setting which will be equipped with a long wooden table for seminar-style discussions, expansive whiteboards for detailed mathematical calculations, equipment for chemistry labs, and lounge spaces for reading, contemplation, and independent study.
Our core faculty has been working to develop a classical curriculum that weaves together the humanities, faith and theology, language, fine arts, music, mathematics, and the sciences. Our Upper School program of study is designed to orient our students as English-speaking Christians in the west with respect to their duty to God, family, and country and to equip them with the skills, wisdom, and virtue necessary to become leaders in their communities, as well as in industry and academia.
Dr. Alexander Ruggeri will teach humanities and theology, Dr. James Joyce will teach mathematics and science, Mrs. Tess McKinley will teach theater and public speaking, and Dr. Irene Chrysovalantou Duros will teach Modern Greek, coach students in executive functioning skills, and will be part of the Upper School development including post secondary planning and student preparation for college admissions.
We are blessed to have such talent leading our school and developing a robust program drawing upon the riches of ancient Christianity and the great works of the western canon for the purpose of developing faith, virtue, and leadership in our students.
